Apr 24, 2010 With the MIDI playback, you can you use the dual, split, arpeggio functions, however you cannot use the MM6 pattern mode while a midi is playing back from USB. If you just want to play a melody over a USB midi file then this is ok. If you're looking to transfer the midi into a user song track on the MM6, then I do not know of way this could be. Aug 12, 2009 The MM6 is not a good choice for this purpose because it only has 128 general midi instruments, 1 drum kit, and isn't designed to handle Yamaha's more advanced XG midi file format. Yamaha's arrangers are a much better choice, such as the PSR-S550B which has 480 GM/XG Voices and 22 drum/SFX kits, along with a full 16 track sequencer. MM6 MM8 Playing a Standard Midi File 1. Insert a flash drive with Standard MIDI Files on it into the 'To Device Port' on the back. Press the [USER] button. Press the CATEGORY [INC] button. Turn the [DATA DIAL] clockwise to select the Standard MIDI File. Press the [START / STOP]. Yamaha mm6 midi files.
